Prevent Back Strains and Sprains

Various studies have shown that the construction trades have a higher incidence of back injuries and muscle strains than many other occupations.  Lifting a weight that is too heavy, lifting in an awkward position, twisting your body when lifting or doing excessively heavy work are all common causes of low back problems. Always use proper lifting techniques, stretch regularly and never lift items that are heavy without help.

Here are a few techniques workers can use prior to starting their work day to prepare themselves for these scenarios.
