Fatal Fall in Issaquah

Issaquah, WA – A masonry worker tragically fell to his death early in the morning on May 16th at an apartment complex in Issaquah. The 46-year-old mason was working on the brick facade of the apartment complex when he fell 50 feet from a scaffold. The cause of the fall remains under Department of Labor & Industries investigation.

A day earlier, on May 15th, a worker from a different job site was seriously injured after falling from a mezzanine to the floor below. Although the worker survived the initial fall, he later died from the injuries.

58 people died in traumatic work-related incidents last year in Washington State alone, 15 of which were direct results of a fall. Nationally, falls account for the most common cause of workplace injuries and fatalities.

These are sobering reminders of the importance of fall protection and training. What may seem like a simple shortcut can quickly lead to a devastating fall.  Always ensure your team is prepared for the work ahead and understand the crucial nature of safety measures.
